It took about 2 weeks give or take, I worked on it on and off with other projects.
Honestly really damn solid game, even if it is just a small test build. Music and art slap, level design ain't bad either. Wall jumps could be a bit snappier and I have a bit of difficulty getting off walls after sliding. (There was another criticism I had thought of but I can't remember it now lol)
Look, I don't like bein an ass and shit, but this game feels INCREDIBLY bland. The enemies just tend to do their own thing, animations are kinda stiff, the boss music doesn't loop and there's practically no variety in the rooms. The art style is also a bizarre choice. While I think you can make 3d models pixelated (take the DKC trilogy, or Dead Cells), the execution here is very jarring. Every game is a chance to learn of course, but I don't this makes for a great commercial product.
The simplistic graphics are charming and I think the phasing through solid obstacles is a really cool mechanic. I think it'd be neat to have the phase mechanic tied to having the hat on, but it's not my game, so do as you please
Oeh yea that used to be a feature actually! I eventually cut it to have the levels flow a bit better though, but I can definitely understand the interest in that.
